16/12/1843 Leeds Intelligencer West Yorkshire, England: THE CROWN CALENDAR, Abraham Whitaker (24), and Abraham Northrop (32), were charged with having, at Bradford, feloniously assaulted and robbed Sarah Feather. Abraham Whitaker was also on board. Abraham Northrop was 32 years old on arrival in VDL. His native place was Cullingworh near Bradford. He was 5'6¾" tall, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and eyes, brown whiskers, A. N. And Sun on Left arm below elbow mole on Left cheek below the Eye, can read a little, married. Occupation: Woolcomber and Tanner. First sent to Norfolk Island. 29/8/1846: Returned to VDL 10/6/1851: TOL 14/6/1853: CP 28/4/1856: Married Ann Turner 17, he was listed as 33 and a farmer, registered at Brighton. Children: 16/7/1856: Male (Given Name Not Recorded), regisered Hobart. Must have been James who was the informant at Abraham's death. 27/12/1858: Joseph 'Nothrop' born Gordon. 19/7/1861: John 'Nothrop' born Brighton. 6/10/1864: Hannah 'Nothrop' born Longford - mother, Hannah Turner. 19/3/1868: Lydia Mary, born Port Sorell - mother Anna Louisa Turner. 26/1/1871: William Henry, born Port Sorell. 21/7/1874: Albert Abraham Northrop born - father a farmer. Albert died 3/10/1877, aged 3 years, by his clothes catching fire in the bush. 5/7/1877: Walter Francis, Born Port Sorell - mother, Annie Louisa Lovell?? 25/12/1879: Ernest Albet Nothrop, born Port Sorell. 20/8/1882: Arthur Wilkinson Nothrop, born Port Sorell. 27/11/1886: Abraham died at Port Sorell, of heart disease and dropsy, aged 69. The informant was his son James. 26/11/1890: Annie Louisa Nothrop, aged 48, married Mark Steward, aged 59, a widower. Married at her house at River Don and registered at Ulverstone. Annie died in 1918.
