Charles Ockendon was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 31st Dec 1813 and arriving 28th Jul 1814 with 204 passengers.

Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

The Assizes for the county of Surrey, ended at Croydon, on Thursday last, at which … Charles Ockenden, for embezzling £200, and upwards, the property of his W. Tash, esq.; … were severally sentenced to transportation, … the following two for 14 years; and … Sussex Advertiser, 16 Aug 1813.

Sydney Gazette, 24 Dec 1827. Police-OFFICE, WlNDSOR, 24th NOVEMBER, 1827. WHEREAS, the undermentioned Persons, who enjoy the Indulgence of A TICKET OF LEAVE, have represented to me, that their TICKETS have been STOLEN from them, or otherwise that they have been lost or destroyed; viz. - Charles Ockendon, Surry (1), Sussex, 57, Labourer 5 feet 8 and a half inches high, fair, ruddy; complexion, silvery grey hair hazle eyes, No of Ticket 109,1189, 2d June, 1817.
