John O'Keefe was convicted at Limerick, Ireland in 1838 for stealing a hand saw. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the 'Westmoreland' arriving Aug 1838. Aged 37yrs; stonemason/bricklayer; Roman Catholic. Married man - 1 male & 1 female child. Native place - Co. Limerick Certificate of Freedom granted, Australia.
