1835: On a convict muster he was listed as assigned to Mr D Jameson (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849; Tasmania; List of convicts (incomplete), 1835). 1837, 18 December: David Owen per KS Forbes and Sarah Barnes per Hector were granted permission to marry (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON52-1-1p062). 1839, 4 December: The couple was married at St Matthews, New Norfolk. David Owen/Owens was "a widower", aged 30, and an overseer. Sarah Barnes was a widow, aged 28 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD37-1-1p32j2k). 1855, 12 December: A David Owen, 42 and a farmer, died from concussion of the brain caused by a fall from a horse. 1831, 19 July: Convicted at the Summer Assizes, Montgomeryshire, Wales, for malicious wounding of cattle (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892). 1831, 7 October: Admitted to the Justitia prison hulk, listed as 26, and having been convicted for malicious wounding of a mare and gelding. Sent from there on 6 December to the Ganymede hulk. Sent from the Ganymede for transportation on 11 February (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849). 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as 22 and a ploughman. He was married with one child and his wife was at his native place of Llanidloes, Wales (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-10$init=CON18-1-10p39).
