Convict Notes

1832 - 1834. New South Wales, Australia, Convict Records Application to re-unite with Family. John Parker alias Palmer. Wife; Rebecca Higgins & 3 children

It is highly likely that John was the father of Sophia Maria Robson Smith as he had requested permission to marry her mother and it had been granted, before they could marry however John's wife Rebecca and their sons arrived from England
John Parker was born about 1795. His family lived in Wilby, Norfolk before his conviction. He was married to Rebecca Huggins and had three sons when he was transported. He finally settled in Castlereagh where he purchased land and became a successful farmer. He and Rebecca had two more sons in Australia. John died in 1874. He and Rebecca are buried in the Cemetery at Castlereagh along with four of their sons. Many of his descendants still live in the Penrith area.
