6/7/1839 Monmouthshire Beacon Monmouthshire, Wales: James Perkins, aged 20, charged with embezzling, at Llanwenarth, the 21th of June, five pounds nineteen shillings, the property of John Prowlin, his master: Ten years' transportation. James Perkins was 22 years old on arrival - his native place was Worcestershire. James was single, could read, was 5'4¾" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair and eyes, Eyebrows partially meeting, two small moles back of left jaw, five moles on right side of neck, mark of a burn back of lower part of left side of neck, A P J P inside lower left arm, WP and several dots forming two circles on back of left hand, wart inside left thumb, ring on middle and third fingers of same, scar on right knee.
