He married firstly Catherine (Connor) on 19 3 1821 at Christ Church Castlereagh-Noted a Catherine (Connald) is shown in Smees records as arriving in 1813 on ADMIRAL GAMBIER.. He was a servant when he married secondly, with consent of the Governor, Mary Ann (Ireland) on 15 11 1826 at St James CofE Sydney. He was recorded in 1828 as a grocer.
