Family connections for Mary (Piles) are: PILE/S Sarah Mary (Pile/s) was born about 1766. She was tried at probably Old Bailey on 6 4 1785, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 1 1788 after a voyage of 12months on First Fleet ship LADY PENRHYN. She married firstly (1of3) Ottiwell/Otawal/Joseph (Hindle/Ingle/Ingal) on 14 9 1788 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She arrived on Norfolk Island on 13 3 1790 with her husband & a child.>>> [Some details taken from this Website] Ottiwell/Otawal/Joseph (Hindle/Ingle/Ingal) arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 12 1788 after a voyage of 12months on First Fleet ship ALEXANDER. He arrived on Norfolk Island on 13 3 1790 with his wife. .. >>>Mary (Pile/s) had a second (2of3) relationship with John (Chew his first relationship).>>> John (Chew) arrived in NSW as a marine with Watkin (Tench)s company of 29th Plymouth Company with the First Fleet in January 1788. He arrived on Norfolk Island & had a second relationship with Mary (Pike/Pile/s/Ingle). He departed NSW on HMS GORGON in 1792. He produced perhaps 1known child while in the Great South Land. John (Chew) & Mary (Pile/Ingle) produced 1child: 1.John (Chew later Hendell/le) was born on 5 6 1789 & baptised on 5 7 1789 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He (as John (Wendell?) was taken to Norfolk Island with his mother. He took the name (Hendell/le) further suggesting his living with his mother & perhaps step father. As John (Hendell/le) he married Esther/Ester/Hester (Beckett age13 her first marriage) on 20 1 1812 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He is recorded in 1814 as John (Hindle) labourer at Parramatta with wife Ester (Hindle); & in 1814 John (Hendle/Hendall) was at Seven Hills, receiving cattle from the government herd, and received more by 1819. In 1822 he was a publican in Parramatta and in 1823 he was on the list of persons receiving allotments in Parramatta. He died on 22 2 1823 or 19 6 1823 age33 at Parramatta & was buried at St Johns CofE Parramatta age33 at Parramatta. .. ..[However, the timeline shows that John (Chew/Hendle) could have been sired by Joseph (Hendle)] .. ..Esther/Ester/Hester (Beckett) was born on 2 4 1798 & baptised on 19/29 4 1798 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. She is recorded in 1814 at Parramatta. She married again in 1832 to William (James). She died on 24 8 1840 age42 mother of 1known child. ..Details of Esther/Ester/Hester (Beckett)s family are given in entry for James (Beckett SURPRISE 1790) on this Website. ..John (Hendle-Chew) & Hester (Beckett) produced 1child: ..1.Joseph/John (Hendall/le-Chew) was born on 19 2 1815 & baptised on 26 3 1815 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. .. >>>Mary (Pile/s/Ingle) had a third relationship with William (Browning). She is recorded in 1825 as (still a convict?) wife of William (???) & employed at Liverpool. She died as an emancipist about 1825 age59 mother of perhaps 2children. William (Browning) arrived in NSW as a marine on 26 1 1788 on First Fleet ship FRIENDSHIP. On 4 3 1790 he was sent to Norfolk Island, where he stayed until 21 9 1792. On 24 12 1792 he enlisted with NSW Corps (or was recorded there) at Sydney as perhaps a private. [He is recorded as being on Norfolk Island from 27 8 1792 until 6 11 1794 also] He was discharged on 24 7 1798 with a grant of 160acres at Toongabbie; he became a sawyer. He died in 1828. Mary (Pile) & William (Browning) produced 1child: 1.Francis (Browning) was born on 27 7 1794 & baptised on 28 9 1794 at St Phillips CofE Sydney.
