Richard POOLE was convicted at Middlesex, London on 17 Oct 1833 for Larceny - stealing a great coat. He denied that he had been in prison before but after being recognised by a Constable, confessed to being in Maidstone Gaol for 12 mths.  7 yr transportation sentence.  Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship ‘Arab’ arriving there 30 June 1834.

Married man, 2 children.

Colony of VDL:

Stated his wife had died since he had been transported.
Assigned to work services.
4 Oct 1838: Ticket of Leave granted.
1840: Free Certificate issued, no. 715.
