The ship then sailed to Port Phillip, Victoria but was refused entry and so sailed on to Port Jackson, New South Wales arriving there 24 Dec 1849. 1855 voyage: departed Portland, England on 19 April 1855, arriving Fremantle, Western Australia on 18 July 1855. 260 convicts, 1 death. The ship also carried 30 Pensioner Guards and their families.

Alfred Hiram Pratt was my GG Grandfather. Arrived Sydney 24th December 1849 on convict ship "Adelaide" Tried Nottingham 12th March 1847 convicted to ten years for stealing a coat. Ticket of leave No 51/12 granted 1851 & certificate of freedom No 57/17 issued 17th August 1857. Occupation stone and marble mason.
