Somerset Quarter Session. The Spring Sessions for this County commenced at Wells, on Monday last; there were 7 prisoners for misdemeanours, and 113 for felonies, viz.:— … Luke Provis and Charles Pratten, stealing 10 cwt. of hay; ... Taunton Courier, 30 March 1836.

Tuesday, committed at Frome, by the Rev. H. Sainsbury, for trial at the next Quarter Sessions, Luke Provis and Charles Pratten, (two old offenders) for stealing hay from Mr. John Bartlett, butcher. Sherborne Mercury, 7 March 1836. --------------------------------------------------------------- The following sixteen convicts were removed Thursday last to the Leviathan Hulk, Portsmouth, and ? Hulk, Gosport, prior to their transportation to New South Wales, viz. Wm, Sage, James Sherring, John Grant, Geo. Thomas, Joshua Darling Joseph Salmon, Abraham Thorne, John Baker, Thos. Davis, Robert Petheram, Robert Salisbury, George Robbins, Charles Pratten, John Dunk, William Trott, Luke Provis.
