William's Certificate of Freedom lists him as a Tailor & Soldier. Other documents list him as a Tailor. Convicted 1829 for 'arson' of a barn belonging to Archibald Bell at Richmond NSW. Found not guilty. Convicted 1830 for absconding and theft sentenced to 3 years. Housed first aboard HMS Phoenix (Hulk) then transported aboard HMS Isabella to Brisbane convict barracks. Convicted 1835 for imprisonment & assault of 10 year old Ellen Durham in Sydney. Sentenced to 1 year at Newcastle goal.

William Ralph (Walpole) was despatched from Sydney onboard the Isabella on 24 April 1830 bound for Moreton Bay (see The Campbelltown Convicts).

Trade, sailor. Colonial sentence: Gen. Sessions Windsor, 9 Feb 1830, Absconding & theft. 3 years. To Sydney 22 Oct 1833. Description: Wm. Ralph, Native place, Norfolk, age 29, 5 ft 4 ¾, sallow comp., brown hair, dk. hazle eyes.
