Convict Notes

State Library of Queensland on 20th June 2012

William Rice was 15 years old when tried for pocket picking. He was single and his native place was Drogheda, Louth County, Ireland. From the Medical and Surgical journal of the Waverley, to Sydney 1839: William Rice; age 20 (some discrepancy in the ages here, but then not unusual) convict; sick or hurt; venereal; put on sick list 9/4/1839; discharged 25/5/1839. 18/10/1845: COF 1867: Died at the age of 43 at Carcoar.
