Convict Exiles Index, 1849-1850. John Richardson, per Eden, age 23, Tried at Lewes Sessions, 7 years, Charge: Stealing 2 pairs of wellington boots and prior conviction. Date of Trial: 24/02/1847. Remarks: Recommended for Conditional Pardon.
George Jones, and George Richardson, 20, wax-doll-maker, for stealing, on the 2nd May inst., at Brighton, 120 whips, value 10s., the properly of Henry Dawes. A former conviction of felony was proved against Jones, and he was sentenced to ten years’ transportation; and Richardson to four months’ hard labour, ... South Eastern Gazette, 27 May 1845. John Richardson, wax-doll maker, 22, was charged with stealing at Brighton, on the 13th January, two pairs of Wellington boots, property of John Herbert  A former conviction of felony was put in.— Seven years’ transportation.
