Convict Conduct Record. https://libraries.tas.gov.au/Digital/CON31-1-34/CON31-1-34P243 No 45. Luke Rudiford. Feb 16 1818. Escaping from Sydney in ship Lord Eldon. Gaol gang iuntil he is sent to Sydney. Jan 22 1820. Stealing butter and cheese, & absconding from Go Sulley service, 50 lashes. Feb 1 1820 Neglect of duty & disobeying the orders of G. Salter, his master, 50 lashes. Several other offences and punishments recorded. Last entry: Aug 11 1821. Assault & beating Peter McCullow, & stealing a beaver hat from his person- 100 lashes & transported to such part of the territory as his Honor may deem proper, in the mean time, to work in irons in the G. To Newcastle 11 Oct 1821. --------------------------------------------------------------- Luke Ruddiford and Edw. Bray were charged with robbing Peter McCullon, on the old road to Newtown, on Sunday the 5th instant, and also with assaulting and beating him; and being both found guilty, were sentenced to receive 100 lashes each, to be transported to such place as His Honor may think proper, and in the mean time to work in the gaol gang.
