1830 - Old Bailey On-Line. Tried at Old Bailey, London. Accused of theft from a specified place (stealing, on the 1st of June, 18 spoons, value 50s.; 1 clock, value 7l.; 1 opera-glass, value 50s.; 1 teapot, value 10s., and 1 tea-pot spout, value 3s., the goods of the Earl of Roseberry ; 1 gown, value 10s., and 1 piece of lace, value 5s., the goods of jane page , in the dwelling-house of the said Earl of Roseberry). Found guilty theft under 100s, guilty. Sentenced to transportation.

James Riddle was transported for stealing goods to the value of 99s., he was 18 years old on arrival. 1837 Muster: James 'Ridley' age 24, Sawyer assigned to Richard Archibald. 3/5/1837: Married Ann Cadby. 10/7/1837: COF 17/4/1891 Died at St. Leonards. There is suggestion James was the son of James Riddle/Ridley per Hebe 1820.
