The information given in the SSC database for Margaret Robertson was that she was 23 years old and was living at Burt's Close, Grassmarket, Edinburgh. The charge against her was that on 21 October 1837, Margaret Robertson, Catherine Cook and Mary Anderson (although Mary Anderson appears to have been dropped from the case by March) assaulted and robbed John Drysdale, carter or labourer, at Burt’s Close, Grassmarket. Margaret Robertson and Catherine Cook were found guilty and sentenced to transportation for 7 years.
