4/4/1828 Cambridge Chronicle and Journal Cambridgeshire, England: SUFFOLK ASSIZES Robert Abbott and Samuel Rose, for breaking into the dwelling-house of Mr. E. Rodwell, of Wetheringsett, and stealing 9l. 10s 6d., two watches, &c. Robert Abbott was also on board. Samuel Rose was 18 years old on arrival. Native Place: Suffolk. Samuel was illiterate, protestant, single, 5'8" tall, ruddy complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes, dark mole and scar on right arm, small scar on centre of upper lip. Assigned to James Hassall, Parramatta. 1837: TOL Yass 7/9/1842: To Cockatoo Island. 21/1/1843: TOL Cancelled - Samuel Rose, per Lord Melville, sent to Cockatoo Island, on suspicion of cattle stealing ; Yass Bench. 20/2/1844: TOL Patrick Plains 6/7/1844: TOL Patrick Plains 15/11/1848: CP **Possible Death. 10/2/1860: aged 44-45, buried at Campbells Hill Cemetery, Maitland, NSW. No marriage found.
