The Indentures state that Patrick Ryan was 18 years old.  He could neither read or write; Religion Catholic: status single and a native of County Tipperary.  His occupation was a carter.  He was convict of stealing a saddle in August 1827 in Tipperary and sentenced to 7 years.  He had no prior convictions.  Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 1/2 inches; complexion florid; hair dark brown and eyes hazel.  Transport number 30.
Assigned on arrival to Mr John Eales, Hunter River.
