Americus had a wife Hannah Married in 1836, their first child, Mary, was born in December 1838, 4 months after he was transported, she was raised by her grandparents in Cumberland. He returned to England & resumed his marriage to Hannah living in Liverpool & having at least 3 more children (Hannah Frances, Thomas & John). He also visited Australia again in 1857 on the ship "Contest" working as a sailmaker
