Luke Scanlon was convicted at Leitrim, Ireland on 1st March 1847 for assaulting a dwelling and unlawful assembly. 7yr sentence. Tried with John Rorke, also transported on same ship. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Hyderabad' arriving 26/08/1849. Ticket of Leave granted upon arrival. Clear conduct record. Appears to have lived in the Derwent Valley.
