VDL: 26 May, 1853: On arrival in VDL, William Scheal, convict #28030, was listed as a farm labourer having served 9 years in the 88th Regiment; transported for 7 years for “mutinous conduct” for "striking Sgt Jones of the 88th", and with two previous convictions for drunkenness; 29 years old, 5’9¼” tall with dark brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.
