Gilbert Sheldon married Elizabeth Staines the daughter of Daniel Staines in 1846. Gilbert died at Angle Farm near Peakhurst NSW.
Gilbert and Elizabeth had 13 children, 5 girls and 8 boys. He received his ticket of leave after serving 5 years of his sentence.
