War Office Records. Registers Court Martial. https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-1606814777/view Private Nathaniel Sheppard, 32nd Regt, Tried at Corfu, 20 Nov 1817, for Mutiny in assaulting or striking a Serjeant. Sentenced to be shot, but Commuted by the Regent to Transportation for 14 years. Case sent to Prince Regent, 3 Feb 1818 for confirmation.

He served in the 32nd Regiment of Foot and served at Waterloo. He served in the 7th Regiment of Foot from 22 Apr 1805 to 13 Dec 1807 when he transferred to the 32nd Regiment of Foot He received additional pay of £0s10d for his service at Waterloo and the Waterloo Medal. He had Sandy hair, Hazel eyes and a ruddy complexion
