Tried and convicted at the Middlesex Session of Peace on 8th December 1809 for fraud, sentenced to 7 years transportation. Left England on 1811. Ship:- the 'Friends' sailed with 100 female convicts on board, there were no recorded deaths during the voyage. Arrived on 10th October 1811. Ann had been assigned as a servant to Ellis Bent in Newcastle. On 12th November 1812, she was returned to Sydney, her sentence having expired early. She was granted permission to marry widowed convict Edward Robinson ('Admiral Barrington' 1791) on 18th February 1813, and they married two weeks later on 1st March, at the Parish of Hawksbury Chapel, Edward & Ann had no children during their marriage. Fourteen years after Ann was transported on the Friends, her daughter, Elizabeth Shorter sailed into Sydney Cove on the 'Lord Sidmouth' on 27th February 1823 to rejoin her. The rarity of the reunion of an exiled convict and a child - by then a grown woman of 19 - who had travelled from the other side of the world was significant enough to rate a mention in the Sydney Gazette a month later, in 1823. The Lord Sidmouth left England on 11th September 1822 carrying 97 female convicts and their 23 children and 21 free women (passengers and 49 of their children) Ann died on 25 August, 1835, and was buried at St.Matthews Church of England, Windsor.
