William was sent to work for the owner of the Royal Bull's Head Inn in Drayton (near Toowoomba). He married Ann Nolan on 24 Dec 1850 and they had 10 children. William was a pioneer on the Darling Downs and was elected to the first Toowoomba Council in 1861. He died on 29 Nov 1894.
