BANK-STREET POLICE OFFICE. FORGED NOTES. Yesterday a fellow of the name of John Slack, Was brought to this Office, charged with having passed forged notes on a grocer in Denzil-street;— the audacity of this fellow could hardly paralleled. On Wednesday he went into the house of Joseph Bast, Denzil-street, and asked for some spirits, for the payment of which he tendered a pound note, and got the change from the shop keeper; this note, which is numbered 58114, and dated 8th May, 1817, proved to be a forgery. On Thursday he, with the most daring impudence, went into the same shop, bought some tea and sugar and tendered another note of the same stamp and impression; he was instantly seized and brought to the Office, from whence he was sent to Newgate to abide his trial.
