Ellen Smith, aged 25, ship - Janus, 1820, tried at Londonderry, 1819, sentence 7 years,  Her trade was a kitchen maid.

Following their arrival in NSW per Janus, sixty-eight of the women were embarked on the ‘Princess Charlotte’ on 16th May, bound for Van Diemen’s Land. They were obliged at first to put back into port for a week because of unfavourable winds however soon resumed this second voyage. Twenty-five women were sent to Port Dalrymple and forty-three to Hobart.

May 31 1825. Absent from Divine Service – Dismissed. Aug 16 1825. Neglectd to attend muster on the sabboth day, Repd.
July 4 1827. F.S. D & Disy., fined 5/- but refusing to pay the same was placed in the stocks 4 hours.
Sept 17 1827. F. S. / ux Howard/ D & Disy during Divine Service yesterday. Charge dissmd.
Dec 16 1830 , F.S. ux Howd.?
Sept 22 1837. F.S. Larceny. Committed for trial. Factory Launceston.
In margin: Q.S. 22 Sept 1837 – 14 years.
Free by Servitude.
Again tried and convicted at the Quarter Sessions at Launceston and sentenced to transportation for 14 years. Transported for Larceny.
