This was not Robert’s first offence, having already been found guilty on 5 other charges and acquitted on 2. He gained his certificate of freedom in Tasmania 20 October 1847 . . . then disappeared.  Any information gratefully accepted.

23/10/1840 Nottingham Review and General Advertiser for the Midland Counties Nottinghamshire, England:

ROBERT SPICK, aged 33, to stealing on the 6th of October instant, a dead fowl, the property of Joseph Scorar. —To be transported for seven years.

Robert Spick was listed as 36 years old on arrival in VDL - Native Place: Bruton.

Previous convictions; once 2 months for cheese; acquitted for beef; waistcoat acquitted; stockins 6 months; 3 times in prison for drunkeness and fined.

Married with 4 children.
Wife, Ann at Notts.

Robert was 5’4¼” tall, can read, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers, grey eyes, bottle jug and glass 2 pipes W.R/or K ???J above elbow left arm.
