Nottingham ASSIZES. At these assizes, which commenced Thursday the 16th, the following-prisoners took their trials In the County Gaol:— …  George Spray (aged 27), for having, on the 13th of November last, destroyed a stockingframe, the parish of Sutton Ashfield, the property Belts, was sentenced to fourteen years' transportation; ... Stamford Mercury, 24 July 1812. George Spray, for destroying a stocking frame at Sutton in Ashfield, the property of Francis Betts, to be transported fourteen years  ; ... Sun, 28 July 1812. … county gaol on Wednesday last, under the care of Mr. Wright, and assistants, in order to be conveyed to Portsmouth, viz. Gervas Copley, Miles Lake, and Wm. Stanley, under sentence of transportation for their natural lives, and George Spray, under sentence of transportation for 14 years. Nottingham Journal, 26 Sept 1812.
