Henry Staples was listed as a runaway convict in the New South Wales Government Gazette, 11th April 1832 Staples Henry, No. 27-1335, Marquis Hastings, 20, Umbrella Maker, Southampton 5 feet 0¾, hazle (sic) eyes, brown hair, sallow comp. from Hyde Park Barrack. A notorious runaway.
