HIS FAMILY WERE AGRICULTURAL LABOURES IN THE AREA.
GEORGE RETURNED HOME AND MARRIED MARY HENSHAW CIRCA 1850 ?.THEIR ONLY KNOWN CHILD GEORGE WILLIAM STEEPLES WAS BORN IN 1851-52.BY THIS TIME GEORGE [SENIOR] HAD BECOME A COAL DEALER BY TRADE,WHICH HIS SON FOLLOWED HIM INTO.
GEORGE DIED IN 1900 IN ILKESTON,HIS WIFE SURVIVED HIM BY TWO YEARS.
