Old Bailey: JOHN ANDERSON, EDWARD SULLIVAN. Theft: pocketpicking. 23rd November 1846 Verdict Guilty > unknown; Guilty > unknown Sentence Transportation JOHN ANDERSON and EDWARD SULLIVAN were indicted for stealing 1 breast-pin, value 4s. 6d.; the goods of Joseph Parry, from his person. Anderson's Defence. I deny the charge entirely; they were my sister's things which we both had on; there was no one at home, and we came out for a lark; I never touched the pin; we came out for the fun of the thing. ANDERSON— GUILTY. Aged 21. SULLIVAN— GUILTY. Aged 19. Transported for Fifteen Years. John Anderson arrived VDL per 'Rodney' 1851. Edward Sullivan was listed as 21 years old (NSW Gov. Convict Records - Exiles). Edward arrived at Port Phillip. Possibly worked for Mr. Roadknight, in 1849.
