Patrick Taaffe was transported for passing a forged note. He was 36 years old. Col.Sec. 8/9/1821: Employed on the roads. On list of all persons victualled from H M Magazines. Listed as Teaffe. 1822-6/6/1823: On list of prisoners assigned. Also listed as Taaff. May 31, June 4 1824: Re permission to marry in the Catholic church; Listed as Taafe. 6,15/9/1824: Re permission to marry at Parramatta; listed as Taafe. 1828: Ticket of Exemption from Government Labour, allowed to reside with his wife Mary, formally Mary Burke per 'woodman' now free. 1829-1832: Ticket of Exemption from Government Labour; to reside with wife Mary (free). 1833: TOL Sydney Gazette; 25/9/1830: Dennis Deaney, Plaintiff. Patrick Taaffe, Defeneant - For examination and Enquiry as to his alledged Insolvency by the Supreme Court. 23/1/1833: CAUTION - I hereby caution William Fanning and all other persons from removing a Wooden House, or otherwise injuring my premises, situated No.1 Kent Street. Any person found trespassing after this Public Notice will be prosecuted according to the law - Patrick Taaffe. 18/6/1833: A prisoner of the Crown named Patrick Taffe, was consigned to the treadmill for 21 days, by the Police Bench on Friday last, for illegally levying on the goods and chattels of a person named Challinor, by which the said goods were sold, the said Patrick Taaffe having no legal authority whatever to prosecute a warrant of distress. Patrick died at the Kent Street property in 1841. There is some discrepancy in his birth year, some records say he was born in 1791 and was 50 years old when he died, or he would have been 56 according to his trial records.
