John married Ann Armfield 12th February 1838 at Richmond. Ann was the daughter of Edward Armfield (Convict, 1801, “Earl Cornwallis”) and Elizabeth Ruse, who was herself the daughter of James Ruse (First Fleet Convict, 1788, “Scarborough”) and Elizabeth Perry (Second Fleet Convict, 1790, “lady Juliana”).

It is very difficult to ascertain details regarding John Taylor. There were three (3) men of that name on the Medway indents, 2 of whom were convicted at Warwick. The 1828 Census has a possible mention: Page 362... [Ref T0112] Taylor, John, C, Medway, Life, at Norfolk Island. It would appear from this that John was possibly convicted of a further crime and subsequent sentence.
