He had a brother Richard Taylor who was sent to Sydney in 1840 on the Eden. Both wrote letters back to England which survived and now are held at Lanchashire Archives England. He was christened Simon Taylor in Kettlewell Yorkshire England Father George Taylor mother Ann Taylor nee Brown Simon died at Eslington near Bathurst NSW. My name is Bill Wilson and I am the great great grandson of Richard Taylor
