Matthew Teeling was 31 or 36 on arrival (birth dates of 1788 and 1782 listed) and he was transported for ‘Highway Robbery’.

16/9/1819: Transferred to VDL per ‘Admiral Cockburn’.

Matthew was 5’ 7 1/2” tall, gre eyes, brown hair, scar right side under lip.

6/9/1825: Waterman
30/9/1826: Field Police
8/3/1828: Constable

22/3/1828 Hobart Town Courier:
Matthew Teeling, (Bencoolen) to be deprived of the benefit of his services in the Field Police to the 8th instant, for being intoxicated
while in charge of Prisoners.

Spent a lot of time being drunk.

1830 Muster: Assigned to Mr. G. Meredith
1832-35 Musters:

18/4/1834 Hobart Town Courier:
The undermentioned convicts have been deprived of their tickets of leave for improper conduct.-
William White, per Manlins 2, George Tomkinson, Woodford, Matthew Teelings, Bencoolen.
