Aggravated assault. Peter Walker, Mary and Edward Brennan, Nancy Ottoman, and Anne Brennan, were indicted for an aggravated assault on Lawrence Hennessey, on the 31 of Maw. There were three counts its the indictment. one for an affray, another for a riot, and lastly with having carried out an assault with the purpose of doing grievous harm. ... The jury retired, and in less than half an hour returned with verdict of guilty Peter Walker of the aggravated assault, Judith, Mary, and Edward Brennan guilty of riot, and that Anne Brennan was not guilty Carlow Sentinel, 14 March 1840.
