John Walkerton was born 1802-1808 (different dates found), listed as being 38 years old on arrival. 1840 NORTHAMPTONSHIRE SUMMER ASSIZES JOHN BAKER VICTIM WOOTTON JOHN WALKERTON, CHARGED WITH BREAKING INTO THE HOUSE OF JOHN BAKER, OF WOOTTON, AND STEALING THEREFROM A WOODEN BOX AND 36 FARTHINGS. John was 5'5 3/4" tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, blind right side, wen right side of head, dark complexion, black whiskers. 1846: TOL 3/8/1850: Sentence expired. 2/7/1845 Cornwall Chronicle, Launceston: John Walkerton, ticket-of-leave, in the service of Mr. Bligh, West Tamar, was charged with powerfully refreshing. When taken to the watch-house, a bottle of rum amongst other articles were found upon his person. This latter article was to be returned to him, with a caution not to imbibe too deeply of its contents after forty-eight hours incarceration had taught him the necessity of abstinence. Gravesites of Tasmania: Walkerton, John – Born 1808 – Died 14/4/1881 aged 73 – New Town Pauper Institution – Arrived “Lady Raffles”. 'Linc' also stated that he was born in Scotland. No marriage or children found.
