NOTE: Several records incorrectly give William Ward's place of trial and conviction as Nottingham, on 2 July, 1849. This may stem from the Fremantle jail records where two men called William Ward, who arrived separately in WA in 1851, the first on the Mermaid in May and the second on the Pyrenees in June, have been given the same trial location and date. "Our" William Ward's WA convict number is 606; the other man's is 207. --00--
