David's wife, Rachel Westwood (nee Henry) died 1904 and is buried at Cornelian Bay.

I believe that George was the nephew (son of David's sister Ann). But in any case, they were of similar ages & clearly close associates. George married Rachel Henry 1862. He died in 1863, at Hobart, leaving her to bring up their two children.

Worcester Journal Worcestershire, England 24 Jul 1845 SUMMER ASSIZES George Rose, 21, labourer, and David Westwood, 2l, labourer, were charged with feloniously assaulting Abraham Newton Hill, Kingsnorton, on the 30th of June. George Rose arrived per 'China 1846'. George Rose was David's uncle and also the same age. David Westwood was listed as 23 years old on arrival. He was the son of George lWestwood and Sarah Rose and he was born in Harborne, Eng. It was his first conviction. David was 5'4 1/2" tall, light brown hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, single, could read, protestant. 10/8/1852: TOL 29/3/1853: TOL revoked - being absent from muster. 27/9/1853: TOL restored. 3/7/1854: Hobart - Drunk and misconduct in being out after hours and disturbing the peace -fined £5.5s., and admonished. 12/9/1854: CP 1862: Married Rachel, aged 27, a spinster, he was listed as 36 and a Brewer, at St. David's Cathedral, Hobart. 29/12/1862: Son Arthur David Westwood, born Bothwell, Tas. 16/7/1863: David Westwood, aged 39, died at the General Hospital, Hobart, of albuminous nephritis (a form of kidney disease also called Bright's disease). He was listed as a Brewer. 2/1/1864: Daughter Ellen Frances was born. Found no further marriage for Rachel. Millington's search database has a death for a Rachel Westwood: WESTWOOD, Rachel 74, Burial 9-Dec-1904 STREET

Originally landed on Norfolk Island via "Mayda" and departed on 29 Apr 1847 on "Pestongee Bomanjee" and landed Hobart 21 May 1847. Married Rachel Henry in Hobart 13 Mar 1862.
