Yorkshire West Riding Christmas sessions - commenced Tuesday 5 Jan 1841. Patrick Whaling (20), with George Abel (16), John Crann (17) Nicholas Marr (16) and Patrick Conley (15) were indicted for stealing money from William Hodgson at Bilton with Harrogate. It was noted as a common case of shop lifting. Able, Marr and Whaling were transported for 7 years; Conley transported for 10 years.
