DEATH: 29 September, 1846: Just over a month after his arrival in VDL, George Abrahams died at Rocky Hills where he had been assigned to a work gang on 3 September. There are no details in this document about the cause of his death (Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Register; Registers of convict deaths, 1845-1874). --00--


IN VDL: 23 August, 1846: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as convict #18700, 63 years old, married with four children, Jewish, able to read and write, an auctioneer, agent and brazier; native place Whitechapel; 5'1½" tall, grey hair, brown eyes and ruddy complexion (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-81$init=CON33-1-81P11). --0--


TRIAL: 2 February, 1846: George Samuel Abrahams was found guilty of receiving stolen scarves and sentenced to transportation for 7 years. It was his first offence (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-81$init=CON33-1-81P11). --0--
