Hugh Stuart Aburneathy was a native of Belfast, Antrim Co., Ireland. Hugh was 46 years old on arrival, he was 5'6½" tall, brown complexion, black hair, grey eyes. Native Place: Belfast. Colonial Secretary Index: ABURNETHY, Hugh Stuart. Per "Princess Royal", 1823 1824 c.Apr, Oct 8: Bootmaker. Assigned convict tradesman whose master was a defaulter in payment for; also listed as Abernethy (Reel 6061, 4/1778 p.265f; Fiche 3293, 5/3821.1 p.5) 1825: On list of convicts mustered in the employ of Thomas William Middleton of Sydney; in 1823. Listed as Alexander Aberneathy (Fiche 3144; 4/1843A No.529 p.451) 8/5/1835: Admitted to Parramatta Gaol. 18/1/1837 Sydney Gazette: Runaways apprehended: Aberneathy Hugh, Princess Royal, E. Doyle, Jerry's Plains. 30/8/1841: Hugh died at Port Macquarie, aged 65, an invalid.
