William ADAMS was convicted at Bucks, 9 March 1822 for horse stealing. First conviction. Life Sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Caledonia' arriving 2 Nov 1822. Orderly onboard ship. Aged 25yrs; married man; farmer's labourer. Native Place: Crowfield, Bucks. Wife, father and brother at native place. VDL: 2 Jan 1826: Attempt to break out of Guard room with intent to abscond. 25 lashes.
