William ADAMS was convicted at Gloucester, England on 31 March 1824 for burglary. Previously convicted. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Princess Charlotte' arriving Nov 1824. Aged 20yrs; single man; VDL: 1828- assigned to Mr. Reiby. Charged with stealing 2 of his Master's sheep. Dismissed. 1830: Abscond. 50 lashes. Ticket of Leave granted. 1835: at Norfolk Plains (Longford area), Westbury. 24 May 1839: Conditional Pardon approved, no. 1999. 1842: at Longford. 14 Sept 1847: Conditional Pardon extended.
