The Proceedings of the Old Bailey AGNES SYKES. Miscellaneous; kidnapping. 11th May 1835. 1234. AGNES SYKES was indicted , for that she on the 7th of April, feloniously and maliciously by fraud, did decoy and entice away a female child, under ten years of age, (to wit, five years,) named Jane Charlotte, the daughter of William Charles Evans and Jane his wife, with intent to deprive them of the possession of the said child.—2nd COUNT, stating the intent to be to steal certain articles of wearing apparel, the goods of the said William Charles Evans, being upon and about the person of the said child; to which she pleaded GUILTY . Aged 28.— Transported for Seven Years. Fourth Jury, before Mr. Recorder.
