Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The Convict Indentures state that Honora Ahern was 35 years old. She could read; religion Roman Catholic; status widow with one daughter and a native of City Cork. She was a housemaid. Honora was convicted of stealing a frock in Cork City on 3 August 1838 and sentenced 7 years old. She had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 1 3/4 inches; complexion ruddy and freckled; hair dark brown nearly black and eyes brown. Transport number 146 and Prisoner number 144-39.
