Family connections for Patrick (Ahern) are: AHERN Patrick (Ahern) was born about 1798 perhaps at Waterford Ireland & became an agricultural labourer. He married Mary (Kiely). He was tried w/his wife for theft of cutley etc at Clonmel Tipperary co. on 31 3 1827, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 30 1 1828 after a voyage of 4months on MARQUIS OF HUNTLEY; he was 5'9" fair complexion fair hair grey eyes-he was also described as 5'8.25" ruddy complexion dark brown hair dark hazel eyes-& Catholic. He was assigned to George (Windham) at Hunters River. He (surname Aheron) is recorded in 1828 with his family as servant for William (Carter). He was Free by Servitude by 1834. She was tried w/her husband for stealing cutlery etc at Clonmel Tipperary co. on 31 3 1827, sentenced to 7years. She petitioned to take 5children with her.
