Convict Notes
Henry Albert worked for a carpet dealer and a customer identified him as having collected four carpets he was returning as unsuitable. The carpets were sold to a receiver of stolen goods, William Burt, who was also tried with Henry Albert (and with Mrs Elizabeth Burt who admitted paying Albert and was found not guilty). Albert disputes identification but is sentenced to 7 years transportation. Mr Burt got 14 years for Receiving. Another unresolved case against Henry Albert was mentioned, perhaps that explains the 14 year term in the transportation record?
